Latest update about Ontario Provincial Nomination Program

Do you have 351 or above CRS points? You are now eligible for Ontario provincial nomination program. Ontario has cut down the selection points. It has now dropped to 351 and above CRS points. In the recent Express entry draw Canada has invited almost 779 applicants with CRS scores ranging from 351 to 446 CRS points under HCP i.e. Human Capital Priorities Stream. So now candidates with less than 400 CRS points need not be disappointed as you still have the chance of getting picked by Ontario.

Recently the Ontario selected candidates from the Express entry pool n 2 rounds. In the first round of selection, nearly 480 candidates with following criteria were selected:

  • CRS points 351 to 446
  • Job offer from an employer in Ontario
  • And met the requirement for Human Capital Priorities Stream

In second round of selection, almost 299 candidates with following criteria were selected.

  • CRS points 351 to 446
  • French language skills i.e. the CLB score of 7 or above
  • And met the requirement for HCP steam

So Ontario invited candidates who had either a CLB score of 7 and above or a job offer from the province. Applicants, who submitted their profiles for the Express Entry Program between 1st January 2018 to 26th March 2018, were picked by Ontario and sent invitations to apply for the permanent residency visa under Ontario Provincial Nomination Program.

The government of Ontario stated that they have invited skilled workers from the Express Entry pool with less points as low as 351 to help the province of Ontario meet the requirement of its labour market.
