How the reduced time for ITA influences the Canada Permanent Residence status applicants?

Canada is one of the prominent countries well-known for offering foreign education and better living standards. However, IRCC has announced major variations for the Canadian immigrant applicants recently while processing the Permanent Residence status application in the year 2018. All these variations influence the Canada Permanent Residence application status currently. Express Entry program is the most significant procedure adopted by Canadian immigration applicants principally. The main aim of designing Express Entry program is to invite highly qualified workforce to Canada based on a point measurement evaluation of a potential candidate.

In Express Entry, the candidate’s score is assessed using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) tool. Through the Express Entry, the candidates who get minimum CRS score will be shortlisted. Subsequently, IRCC (Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada) conducts a draw for Express Entry shortlisted candidates. The candidates who succeed then receives the ITA for applying Canada Permanent Residence application. After receiving the ITA, the candidates are allocated within a specific time frame to submit the mandatory documents and file the application in the period in-between.

Due to the recent changes introduced by IRCC, the time has been reduced to 60 days now. It has reduced the timeline from 90 days to 60 days to apply for a Permanent Residence status application after receiving ITA. On 26th June 2018, IRCC stated that the candidates will have only 60 days to complete the documentation process of their application after receiving the ITA. However, the candidates who have already applied for the Permanent Residence application will still have 90 days as the time limit after receiving ITA. But, this change will be applicable for the Permanent Residence applications that are submitted only after 26th June 2018 in the Express Entry Pool.

As the timeline to submit the documents is reduced, it is suggested that the potential candidates must start their process of gathering the documents and filing their Permanent Residence status application before receiving the ITA.  As a result, this helps in saving the time for collecting the documents and ensuring haven after receiving the ITA.
